Monster Energy Rosarito Beach Pro Surf Contest

The 1st Annual Monster Energy Rosarito Beach Pro-Am surf contest will be held August 22 and 23 at the Rosarito pier. Surfers will go head to head to win their share of the $10,000 purse. Event coordinator Jeff Stoner of FDt Marketing is looking forward to making the inaugural event a successful one. "We feel bringing this surf contest to Rosarito is a perfect opportunity to not only help with the tourism in Rosarito, but to also give another opportunity to those surfers, professional and amateur, to compete in a location where they usually would not. Being in Mexico will not only draw a lot of great local pro U.S. surfers, but also give opportunity to those amateurs in the Mexican Surf Federation as well as those up and coming U.S. amateurs. We are excited to be a part of this event and look forward to a great contest."

Pro surfer Zach Plopper, who will be competing in the event said "Finally a surf event is back in Northern Baja. It's awesome that the city of Rosarito is stepping in to provide both local and international surfers an opportunity to showcase their talent and win some coin!"
