Looking for an alternate route to Ensenada?

One alternate, shown below, is to cross at Tijuana and take the free road at La Misión.
Time to get to Ensenada: Approximately 30-40 minutes
Overview: Exit the Scenic Toll Road (Mexico 1) at Km. 59.5 (Alisitos exit, near Hotel La Fonda) take the free road inland all the way to Ensenada. This route passes the exit for the Baja wine valley (Valle de Guadalupe) as well.

Another alternate route is to cross at Tecate and take the Tecate-Ensenada free road.

At approximately K59.5, at the Alisitos exit (near Hotel La Fonda)
traffic is directed off the Scenic Toll Road (Mexico 1) and onto the free road.

Curve down to the right. At the "Alto" take a left, following the Ensenada sign.

Next, you will pass Hotel La Fonda on the right and parallel the ocean
before heading east into La Misión.

After passing through La Misión, the road begins to climb a winding hill.

Then it levels out.

To visit the Baja wine valley (Valle de Guadalupe) watch for the exit signs.
