The Voyage of the Dawn Treader To Be Filmed in Rosarito

June 5, 2008 - It was recently announced that the majority of the third Narnia movie "The Voyage of the Dawn Treader" will be filmed in Rosarito at Baja Studios (formerly Fox Studios Baja). The movie, produced by Disney, follows the perilous ocean journey of the Dawn Treader as it sails back to Narnia. Since the majority of the movie takes place on water, Disney will make use of the large water tanks that were used in the production of the films "Titanic", "Master and Commander" and "Pearl Harbor". The estimated $100 million production is already underway, and will take approximately 18 months to complete, with a projected release date of May 7th, 2010.
Baja Secretary of Tourism Oscar Escobedo confirmed that they have been working closely with Disney on the project and said "Disney offers us the opportunity to promote Baja California as a destination for film projects. Since "Titanic", this important goal has never been achieved."
