The 37th annual Mexico International Volleyball Tournament returns to Rosarito Beach on June 23rd and 24th. The tournament is a weighted blind draw beach doubles format, meaning that the men's and women's teams are created by the organizing committee based upon skill level to keep the competition as evenly matched as possible.

On Saturday each team will compete within their pool of five to six teams, with the top two teams in each pool advancing to the playoffs on Sunday. At that point the tournament becomes a single elimination format until the champions are crowned. The top three teams will receive prizes from Quicksilver and the winners will not only get their names on the perpetual trophy, but will also win free lodging for the tournament the following year!

All profit generated by the tournament is given back to charitable causes, so it is not only a whole lot of fun, but a good cause as well!

Baja Bound is proud to be the official Mexican auto insurance provider for the Mexico International Volleyball tournament.

Mexico International Volleyball History

The tournament was started 1974 by Mike Brown as a fun weekend Baja getaway for friends and family. Today it has grown to become one of the largest beach volleyball tournaments in the world and is open to both professional and amateur players. Originally held in Estero Beach (and called the Estero Beach Volleyball Tournament) the tournament was moved up to the closer location in Rosarito Beach in 2007.

See you in Rosarito Beach!
