Bring the following with you and apply in person:
- Valid passport with at least six months of validity remaining.
- Photocopy of passport.
- A letter addressed to the Consulate General of Mexico on the company's letterhead stating the following:
- Specific purpose or activity to be conducted in Mexico
- Time requested
- That the applicant will not receive a salary while in Mexico
- A photocopy of the company's valid business registration or license.
- Completed application form.
- Two front view passport size photos (automatic machine photos not accepted).
- US $99.00 fee, payable in cash only (US $161.00 for technicians and engineers).
Investors/advisors who are attending Board of Directors meetings need a copy of the articles of incorporation (acta constitutiva).
Some nationalities will need to pay and additional US $37.00 for their visa.

Technicians and Engineers
An FM3 visa will also be issued for those who: install or maintain machinery sold to Mexican companies, train personnel, supervise or advise on such projects.In addition to the above requirements, letter(s) are required from the company or companies in Mexico that show the request for technical or engineering services from the company in the U.S. and the activities to be performed.
